Iznik is a quaint little town in northwestern Turkey, surrounded by a lake and a range of hills. Historically an important town, Iznik is most famously known for its cobalt blue pottery and ceramic tiles.
And it is this beautiful designs in flowing arabesque patterns and colors of turquoise and pastels have inspired artists over centuries.
Iznik is now closer home with its beauty and elegance gracefully captured by renowned fashion designer Jaya Rathore in her Spring Summer collection 2012.
Jaya is known for her love of heritage. Her style truly celebrates the craftwork of the olden days and the newest collection is rich with embroidery reflecting the colors and patterns of Iznik pottery and Turkish tiles.

Designer-Kapil & Monika, artist- Sunayana Malhotra, Elvirra Mehra- CEO, Turkish Naturelles, Shalini Vij, Owner, Hangout, designer Preeti Ghai, Divita kanoria of Tathaastu, Vessna Jacob , Vandy Mehra, Vasudha Nair of Elizabeth Arden, Nikki Oberoi, Gauri Swahney, Parneeta Sharma, Neeru Tiwari(Gauri Khan’s aunt) with Anjana Kuthiyala, Neeta Bhargava, Dimple De, Rashi and Gautam Bhimani are some of the names from the café society gracing the occasion. |
